Vincenzo Nocereto - Master engraver

Professor Vincenzo Nocereto was born in Torre del Greco on June 14, 1943. Having graduated from the art institute at a young age, he later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. The premature death of his father, from whom he learned valuable techniques of the art of cameo engraving, forced him to quickly enter the world of work.
A teacher of art education, he has worked at various schools located outside the Campania region, in particular in San Donato di Ninea, a small Calabrian town in the Cosenza area, in the province of Potenza, in Salerno and finally in Torre del Greco where he carried out his teaching activity until 2001, the year in which he took his well-deserved retirement.
Professor Vincenzo Nocereto, having constantly collaborated with his father in the working of cameos since a young age, not only developed, very soon, a deep passion for this art but also assimilated the related working techniques which he meticulously developed and perfected over the course of the decades of experience that he now boasts in the sector.
His participation in the artistic and educational activities held in exhibitions in Milan, in the Campania region, as well as in his hometown are countless.
He has reported at various cultural events both in order of the historical-artistic development of the cameo and its noble workmanship under the exquisitely technical-operational profile. On the occasion of these meetings, after an exhaustive illustration about the different species of shells and corals present in nature as well as mother-of-pearl and lava stone, he has always encouraged his participants to concretely witness the different phases of engraving with the exclusive use of the burin.

As an art teacher, he worked in various schools, even outside the Campania region, in particular in San Donato di Ninea, a small town in Cosenza, Calabria, in the province of Potenza, in Salerno and finally in Torre del Greco, where he continued teaching until 2001, when he retired.

Professor Vincenzo Nocereto, having worked with his father consistently and youthfully in the art of cameo engraving, not only developed early on a deep passion for this art, but also assimilated working techniques that he meticulously developed and perfected during decades of experience in the industry of which he can be proud.
His participation in educational and artistic activities held during exhibitions in Milan, Campania and, of course, in his hometown, are countless.

He has held seminars in various clubs for both historical and historical development. During these meetings, after an exhaustive illustration of the different species of shells and corals found in nature and in mother of pearl and lava stone, he has always encouraged the participants to witness the different phases of the art of engraving with the use of a burin with personal "live" demonstrations.
